In chapters 7-9, Corrie goes through many tough trials but in the process, she learns how to protect and hide the Jews better. First, Corrie learned patience starting with her sister Nollie. When an incident leads to Nollie’s truthfulness endangering the Jews that were being hidden in Flip’s home, Corrie has to explain to Nollie that her actions could have caused great distress if not avoided. Later, the Ten Boom family decided to make a system for hiding the Jews, the system included codes and preparation for a raid that could befall their home. Corrie then practiced drills and ran tests to make sure that everyone is prepared for a possible raid from the Gestapo. Also, during this time the family took in a kind Jewish man named Meyer Mossel, but for his safety, the family called him Eusie Smit and he kept then very entertained with his comical humor.
In this next chapter, the family was under high levels of stress. It started with Nollie being arrested, in a confrontation with the Gestapo, Nollie let her honest nature get the better of her, and the result was that a Jewish woman and Nollie were taken away. Another, issue that occurred was the return of otto who had been promoted to captain. He came back to their home for a visit but those intentions made the Ten Booms very suspicious of him. Fortunately, the family remained calm and quick and made sure that all of the Jews and evidence of Jews were hidden, until otto left. Lastly, Corrie received a letter for a meeting with the police chief she showed a lot of bravery even though she believed her families secret would be exposed. Yet it turned out that the chief was on their side but he requested something of Corrie that was unattainable. The family has learned to grow in their strength but it is unknown how they will deal with any new challenges they could face in the future.

Summary of chapter 9-10 of the hiding place
Chapter 9-10 shows that it is a harrowing time for the Ten Boom family. The Gestapo continues to suspect the family of housing Jews, leading to an actual raid on the Beje. The Gestapo came into their house and arrested them but, luckily the family had successfully hidden the Jews seconds before their arrest. The family was taken to the Scheveningen, which is the Gestapo headquarters and they were placed in different cells. Corrie was ill when the arrest took place and she progressively got worse the more she worried about her family and their well-being. She also was anxious about if the Jewish hideaways had escaped or not, so she turned to her faith which gave her relief. When the Gestapo’s went to Hitler’s birthday party, Corrie along with other cellmates called out names like a system to learn information about loved ones that were captive. Corrie learned that her family members had been released and she felt extremely relieved. Since she was released, Nollie began sending Corrie letters and packages which Corrie was grateful for. Unfortunately, in one of the letters, Corrie learns of her father’s death. She is unaware of the circumstances of his death, but she feels a sense of calm knowing that her father is at peace with her mother and God.

For our writable story, is it fine if we write the entire story in 1st person pov, or do we have to tell it as we were narrating the story in 3rd person pov as if we were the narrators?

Summary of the last chapter and since then of the Hiding Place
In the last chapter of the Hiding Place. Corrie gets released from Ravensbruck. She deals with many opticals that try to prevent her from returning home, but she pulls through. It was a long and tiresome Journey but Corrie eventually made it back to Haarlem. There she reunited with Willem and Nollie. Together, they discussed how life had been since Corrie’s imprisonment. Willem had made a home for the sick that also disguised Jewish boys as female nurses. Nollie lived at the Beje with her family and had the watch shop re-opened. Corrie was glad to be home but she realized that she missed Betsie greatly. So Corrie began telling Betsie and her story to the people of Haarlem. Later Corrie began making a place for people that suffered trauma from the camps and the war. She helped Jews and other citizens including Germans who wanted to refrain from what they did during the war. For the rest of Corrie’s life, she continued to tell her story and impact people’s lives. Corrie kept her faith all throughout the journey and it kept her both safe and sane. Corrie even learned that her release from Ravenbruck had been an error and that if she had stayed another week she would have been killed. Corrie never stopped spreading what she learned until her death in 1983.
