Math

Good morning, good morning!

Welcome to Virtual Math with Mrs. Rust!

Assignments|

From now on, I want you to complete 2.5 hours of ALEKS and at least 10 topics every week. (You will see these assignments on your home page for ALEKS.) That’s just 30 minutes and 2 topics each day Mon-Fri. You’ve been preparing with perseverance and discipline all year long in order to tackle this time of independent learning. You can do it!

Here are the resources/tools I am providing for you to help you meet your goals.

  • Each Monday, I will meet with each class on Zoom to connect and to provide helpful tools/information you can use to help you reach your goals!
  • I will be available on Zoom for personal tutoring. Schedule this type of meeting either on blog page or through ALEKS Message Center.
  • You can post questions on your homeroom blog page or check blog page to find answers I have already given to other students.
  • Use the Aleks “messasge teacher” tool on your ALEKS topic page to send me a quick question asking for assistance on a particular topic. (I sent a message to each of you explaining how to use the ALEKS Message Center. Click on the bell on the top of your ALEKS home page to see my message to you.)
  • Watch the explanations and videos with each ALEKS lessons
  • Use your Volume 1 textbook to find another way to explain a lesson and additional practice
  • Blue and Green Teams have access to Education.com for Math games to help sharpen skills
  • Green and Gray Teams have access to their digital textbook with even more resources (username and password are the same as for ALEKS)

As of now, you will receive grades for:

  • Joining and participating in Zoom class meeting every Monday
  • Posting appropriate and relevant comments on your home room blog page weekly
  • Completing weekly ALEKS goal of 2.5 hours/week
  • Completing weekly ALEKS goal of 10 topics/week
  • Completing Scheduled Knowledge Checks

[Note: All Time and Topic grades will show up in your ALEKS gradebook.]

With love,

Mrs. Rust
